Dr Hutan Ashrafian a pioneering bariatric surgeon, realised that they could combine their expertise to create something genuinely new to help people with weight loss. Dr Camilla Easter and Dr Nick Edwards, two medically trained entrepreneurs, joined Oxford Medical Products to turn this vision into a reality.

CEO - Dr Camilla Easter
Dr Camilla Easter, has six years biotech start-up experience as COO working exclusively on hydrogel based medical devices. Originally a veterinary surgeon, she has run veterinary clinical trials and launched the veterinary arm of a biotech company. Following on from this she moved into the human biotech sector, here she was involved with all aspects of the company including, R&D, fundraising, regulatory and preclinical trials for medical devices.
CMO - Dr Hutan Ashrafian
CMO - Dr Hutan Ashrafian
Dr Hutan Ashrafian has a MRCS and PhD in surgery and computational physiology. Hutan is currently a clinical lecturer in surgery at Imperial College. His research objectives are to develop innovative and technological strategies to resolve the global, healthcare burden of obesity, metabolic syndrome, obesity-related cardiorespiratory disease, musculoskeletal dysfunction and cancer.

CFO - Dr Richard Parsons
Originally a research scientist, Richard gained his PhD in Molecular Microbiology from Aston University before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2015. Post qualification he has held roles in a global management consulting business and most recently, at Vaccitech (co-inventor of Vaxzevria, OU/AZ Covid-19 vaccine). In addition to managing the finance team he worked alongside senior leaders to successfully list Vaccitech on the US stock market in 2021.
CSO - Dr Xue Min
Head of Technology and R&D - Dr Xue Min
Xue did her undergraduate in materials at Shanghai Jiaotong University and was awarded Shanghai Excellent Graduate in 2012. She was then enrolled in the biomaterials group at the University of Oxford for her PhD with full funding from the China scholarship council. She joined the OMP in 2016 to develop a novel gastric retentive device for obesity and harvested two PCT patents for OMP. Xue has now returned to OMP after some time away on maternity leave and her DPhil write up. She has 10 years of experience in multiple fields of biomaterials, including metal-based blood vessel stent, hydrogel-based drug delivery nanoparticles and hydrogel-based expandable devices.

Manufacturing and Operations Manager, Peter Stephenson, has over 20 years’ experience in a wide range of industries including Medical Devices (IVD – rapid diagnostics), Aerospace, and Oilfield equipment. He has significant experience in all aspects of the procurement, qualification and routine operation of complex pieces of processing equipment

Regulatory and Quality Affairs Manager - Adele Simms
Regulatory and Quality Affairs Manager, Adele Simms, has 20+ years’ experience in biotech, medical devices and in vitro diagnostic with roles from Production Scientist to Compliance Manager, Quality Director, Regulatory Affairs Specialist, and as an independent QMS and Medical Directives Auditor working on behalf of LRQA and BSi. She has a BSc and MSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Essex, and a HNC in Business and Finance.

Clinical Studies Manager - Elanor Hinton
Dr Elanor Hinton (NIHR Bristol Biomedical Research Centre, Nutrition theme, University of Bristol) has 16 years post-doctoral research experience, after gaining her PhD at the University of Cambridge. A psychologist by background, her primary interest is in understanding the neuroregulation of appetite and obesity by conducting studies in people living with obesity, people with genetic or acquired conditions that effect energy balance, and healthy volunteers. Elanor is lead for public engagement with science for the Nutrition theme and is focussing on increasing Public and Patient involvement in research.
